Cycle to Rwanda
Cycle to Rwanda
Profile: The Cycle To Rwanda team consists of three determined cyclists who are planning to cycle 6000 miles, leaving in late April 2012, from the UK to Rwanda. All in aid of Sport For Rwanda, a charity created to raise £80k for children in 140 Rwandan schools to receive sports equipment in light of the legacy of the 2012 London Olympic Games, the target is a taxing 70 days across challenging terrain, high altitude and extreme temperatures. The trek through 12 countries will be at the pace of a world record cyclist with little room for respite. The team aims to arrive in time to accompany the Rwandan Olympic Team on their journey to the UK. Peter White, Peter Goodwin and Julian Claxton all have a breadth of experience and skills to increase the chances of success. Testimonial: "Without doubt, and slightly predictably, the best item of kit we have from Buff is indeed the Buff itself! Perfect to keep out the cold or keep off the sun – lightweight and versatile, you couldn’t ask for more. The Buff Wear cycling gilet does get a special mention too. It’s super light, practical and looks great. The fit is snug, but not so much so that you can’t breathe! Wearing it does not make you unduly warm and it’s easy to unzip and ride with it open if you want to increase the airflow. It also scrunches up to nothing for easy packing! Oh, and the socks are very comfortable. Top marks. Website: Follow the exploits online here: www.sportforrwanda.org Facebook: www.facebook.com/cycle2rwanda Twitter: http://twitter.com/cycle2rwanda
